| Report of School activities from June 2008 to August 2009. |
|

|
| When the new academic year approaches, arises a new aspirations for each child attending Sneha Kiran, a new hope that the year will bring about some changes in their life , changes that may be small but never insignificant. As Sneha Kiran completed five years of its service to special children and their families, it is with great pleasure we acknowledge the progress made by each child who has been with us. |
|
| The student strength of the school has been growing steadily. The current school strength stands at 60 children; 35 of who are boys’ are 25 girls’ ages ranging 3 to 20 years.
An “Open day Programme” was conducted in the month of November as part of ‘children’s day celebrations. About 150 children from regular schools visited our center and spent the day with our children, playing games, interacting, and spending time to understand our special children. The response to the event was overwhelming – as it helped both to be accommodative of each other, discover the abilities’ of the special children, form friendships to sensitive to each others needs and limitations. |

| Sneha Kiran was the proud recipient of the Rotary Ramya Award -2008 for excellence in the field of social service. Sneha Kiran children have participated in a range of extra curricular activities such as – Zonal level sports meet, District level talent show programme, sports day at School, fancy dress competitions and many more. Field trips to the Zoo, & Amusement parks were also organized for the children. |

| The center has also celebrated with great fervor, significant days such as Independence Day, Teachers day, Children’s day, Festivals like Diwali, Id and Christmas; all of which has helped our children enjoy the cultures and significance of every event and festival. |
|
|
|
| Sneha Kiran is also proud to have featured in local newspapers, magazines and radio programme as being one of a kind center that has been able to provide all necessary therapies, education and all other facilities for the benefit of children affected with cerebral palsy. |
|

| Health camps |

|
In the month of September 2008, JSS Institute of Dental Sciences conducted an oral health check up for our children. |
 |
|
A General health camp was organized in October2008, which was conducted by Doctors of the JSS Institute of Medical Sciences. The aim of this camp was specially to screen CP children with anemia and to instruct the families to maintain a balanced and healthy diet. |
 |
|
In December 2008. JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing conducted a ‘Hearing’ test for our children. |
|

| Talks and Discussions |

|
A Talk about ‘Food and nutrition requirements of special children’ was conducted for parents and caretakers with the assistance of JC Ladies wing in January 2009. |
 |
|
Group counseling session was conducted for mothers of special children during February 2009. The family counsellor discussed the common areas of concern of most mothers and ways of dealing with situations that affects the family life of special children |

A counseling session was conducted with Staff of Sneha Kiran on the importance of their role in development of the center. |

|
A Fathers Day program was organized in the month of July 2009. |
 |
|
Various dignitaries and VIP’s visited our center over the past one year, their support and appreciation have encouraged us to continue in our relentless effort to do the best for our special children. |

| Main Streaming |
|
|
|
| Four of our students who showed good progress academically, have been mainstreamed into regular schools. |
|
|
|
| Sneha Kiran has also emerged as a center for providing information and training to Speech therapists and Physio occupational therapy students, Social Science students and Nursing students of various colleges in and around Mysore to gain insight into the cause, prevention, diagnosis, management and rehabilitation based programmes of CP children. |
|
|
|
| The dedicated team of professionals, special teachers, & volunteers continue their support to Sneha Kiran. It is with much gratitude we acknowledge the contribution made by every member of the Sneha Kiran family that has helped to make life a wonderful experience for every child at Sneha Kiran. |
