The past academic year was an eventful
one for Snehakiran. We are happy to report that there
is marked improvement in the progress of all our children.
We have provided them special furniture and adaptive equipments
in the school and home as well. Seated in special chairs
and attending special education classes, wearing various
adaptive equipments to overcome their physical disability,
it gives us immense satisfaction in watching them undergo
our routine therapy and education seriously. While the
negative faculties are ignored, various methods are adopted
to stimulate and develop all available positive faculties.
This is done under the guidence and supervision of dedicated
and devoted staff and professionals. |

sincere gratitude and thanks to all corporates, individuals
and social organisations who have stood with us in our
most needy times. We appeal to one and all to join hands
with us to build a bright future for thses children. With
sincere gratitude and warm regards |

of working for the progress of every individual child. |

and the follow up program to be continued at home by every parent. |

|
| Core Values |
|
| Sneha Kiran is strictly secular and classless. No discriminations
based on caste or socio-economic disparities, the program is
free for the children from weaker economic backgrounds. For
others a reasonable fee is charged. Sneha Kiran is not only
a center for excellent academic education, but also a place
which provides medical rehabilitation to children with disabilities
- surgery, physio-occupational therapy, speech therapy, aids
and appliances. |
|
|
|
|
|
| Therapists Viewpoint |
|
| Cerebral Palsy is a difficult condition ... to
understand ... treat ....and accept. It is a challenge
to be able to view possibilities from a multiply
disabled child. As an occupational therapist at
the Disabled Child Guidance Clinic, JSS Hospital,
I face an uphill task with the families of children
affected by CP. Explainning the condition, correcting
wrong ideas and confusion, teaching them therapeutic
positioning and exercises, motivating them to work
tirelessly with their child who seems to learn and
develop so slowly, to stop looking for a CURE ,
for there is none other than therapy, training and
special education. |
|
| At Sneha Kiran, it is often a relief, to have
to just focus on the right posture, exercises or
splinting. The parents have become aware, motivated
and participate with the therapists. This change
has not been easy but is slowly but steadily taking
over. |
|
| Therapy is a way of life and needs constant attention. |
|
 |
|
Correct posture |
 |
|
Splints to prevent deformities |
 |
|
Encouraging useful skills |
 |
|
Repetition and demanding the child's participation |
 |
|
Pre and post-operative excercises |
|
|
| Therapists and families work in partnership. It
strenthens the input and works for progress. I see
Sneha Kiran is just that - Partnership in Progress. |
